@Noobs: Huh? Your reply clearly shows you did not read and/or understand my post, and/or only read the replies. Don't proceed to lecture me or any of the people who've commented here until you have, because you only look stupid.

All of shits dont know this...,
When you are plan 999 it is 384 kbps am i right?, so that getting a 0.5 MB/S is equal to 500kbps... is this not enough for the plan u have?

for plan 1999 - UP TO 2mbps = if ur test is 1.6 mbps,1.71 mbps; not enough for u niggas?
for plan 2999 - UP TO 3mbps = if ur test is 2.5mbps still not enough for u... u better build ur own telecommunication with constant speed connection... i will subscribe to u as a promise...

but on bongs side i think u have poor connection, at least u have .28 mb/s...

Note: the truth about connection in philippines the download speed is much faster than the upload speed...

Bong, those numbers are sad indeed.

As it is though, my speed jump was just a spike after all. It's gone now - I'm back to where I started (if not a bit slower).

Ok, that did not show up right. Anyway, the results show download speeds at 0.11Mbps and 0.08Mbps upload speeds. Sad, sad, sad.

Hey Jed!

We'll just have to wait and see. Baka nga sinuswerte lang ako ngayon, haha.

I really hope this is permanent though.

Stable, fast internet alongside good and hassle-free customer service is still a pipe dream in our country, unfortunately.

Hey Mix!

I feel your pain! Being a GlobeDSL subscriber sucks as well. There were times when I lost my connection for 5-7 straight days without compensation. The call center agent will ALWAYS promise that a technician will drop by but more or less it was a 50-50 affair.

This does not even include the time when we were paying P1500 for speeds that were rated at P999. The reason? GlobeDSL did not upgrade automatically our bandwidth speed when it increased through the years. We had to alert them about it before I saw significant leaps in my connection speed.

Complaining works by the way but can they sustain it? With my case, after a month, I saw my connection speed dip down!

Now listen to this. As of now, I'm currently experiencing significantly faster speeds while downloading stuff from the interwebs. Maybe you could attribute it to the number of peers the torrent I'm currently looking at has, but I remember I already downloaded a previous torrent with a similar number of seeders before (that is, in the 2000+ range) while still being stuck with a really low download rate, relatively speaking.

To add even more fire to the flame, here's a quick comparison of my DSL speeds from months ago, to right fucking now. Incredible (again relatively speaking).

Months ago
<img src="http://www.speedtest.net/result/116397390.png" alt="DSL speed months ago" />

Right now
<img src="http://www.speedtest.net/result/407657654.png" alt="DSL speed right fucking now" />

<img src="http://www.speedtest.net/result/407659664.png" alt="And again" />

So, is this just a momentary positive spike or does complaining work after all? If it's the latter, then you heard it from me: complaining is <strong>awesome</strong>. :D
